The salmon company entered for the first time in this ranking that analyzes the performance of the world’s main protein producers, based on their performance in sustainability and risk factors.
In line with the path it is following and thanks to a solid sustainability strategy, Multiexport Foods was recently included in the Coller FAIRR Protein Producer Index 2020, becoming the best positioned Chilean company according to the measurement parameters of this indicator, and fifteenth globally.
This index, which is driven by The Farm Animal Investment Risk & Return (FAIRR), analyzes the performance of the world’s leading producers of proteins, meat, dairy and seafood products listed on the stock exchange, according to sustainability indicators and risk factors, issues that ultimately advise investors on responsible investments.
The Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Manager of Multiexport Foods, Francisco Lobos, emphasized that the incorporation of the company in the FAIRR 2020 index is a consequence of the work the company has been doing for several years in sustainability.
“The recent incorporation to this prestigious index shows the efforts we make to continue improving in ESG aspects, that is environmental, social and corporate governance; the entire company is focused on producing the best salmon in the world, generating value to society through environmental care, safe labor practices and the growth of shareholders, employees, suppliers and communities,” Lobos said.
This milestone is in addition to the integration of Multiexport Foods in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index in 2019, becoming the first salmon company in the world to be part of this indicator.
Founded in 1987, Multiexport Foods is one of the main salmon producing companies in Chile. With more than 2,400 collaborators, it develops its productive activities in the IX, X, XI and XII regions and is present in the entire salmon production chain, from reproduction to distribution to the final customer.
